The first step is ensure your safety. If you can, move your car, and any other vehicles involved off the road, turn them off, and make sure everyone is ok. Call 111 for emergency medical services or the police if you need them.

Without discussing ‘fault,’ take a photo of the other person’s driver’s license and exchange contact details, insurance information, plus details of the other vehicles. If anyone saw the accident happen, get their contact details, too.
